Pam Bardon Artist/ Illustrator
In 1978 as a new graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art, in Boston, Pam moved to Camden Maine with a B.F.A. in painting, without knowing a soul living in the state. Drawn to the extraordinary coastline, sheltering harbors and granite hills she settled on a freshwater pond nestled between two mountains . In 1985 she met and married a British sailor, and they were fortunate enough to be able to raise their two sons in this peaceful setting.
Pam has done editorial Illustration work for such periodicals as, Down East and Canoe Magazine ,the Arizona Republican Journal, Justice, and the The Good Tern Co op Newsletter. She has also illustrated a children’s book.
“I use the powerfully expressive tool of line, much like a surgeon’s scalpel, to excise complacency from my vision. Drawing is a lifelong discipline that teaches me to engage fully with the present moment, and to look deeply into visual relationships of light, form, texture, and space.”
